Training for Professionals — One-Day Immersion
Designed for clinicians, educators, wellness practitioners, and writers. This one-day training introduces Narrative Medicine as a tool to deepen presence, enhance communication, and strengthen the therapeutic relationship. Participants learn to integrate reflective writing, close reading, and narrative listening into their professional practice to foster empathy, reduce burnout, and support patient or client well-being.
Drawing from our one-year Master of Science in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, we explore the core foundations of the discipline through guided exercises and creative exploration. The training focuses on developing narrative competence—the ability to recognize, interpret, and be moved to action by stories of self and others. Whether you work individually or in group settings, this program offers practical frameworks to bring storytelling, reflection, and mindful attention into your daily work and personal growth.
It will also give you foundational skills to bring Narrative Medicine to your practice.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the weekend program.
